This year for Christmas we booked a vacation rental in Sunriver from Christmas Eve till New Years. I got to take you snowboarding, just the two of us. On the way up Bachelor I told you about the house we lived in when you were born and you said you’d like to see it sometime. We didn’t at the time but I wish we had and I look forward to showing you another time.
I got you new bindings that fit your boots really well. This allowed you to finally go down the mountain and control your board on your own for the first year. You went down the mountain several times putting moves together and you really did great. I’m so proud of you 🙂
Sometimes I think about the times we enjoy together and I wonder what will stick with you. I think about what’s meaningful or how focus my attention is. I think about what you might pass down to you kids. I wonder if technology is good for you or maybe we should spend more time outside. I think we keep a good balance of everything. The older you get the more I realize you sure take after me. Your drive for stimulation, the way you think and act and the things you like sure remind me of my childhood. I really hope snowboarding will be with you for the rest of your life. They’re saying that in 20 years there won’t be snow anywhere in Oregon… Then I start to think where your future will take you. I hope you like adventure as you get older but I hope it doesn’t take you too far away from home for too long.
